VERMILLION, S.D. - The University of South Dakota men's team dominated the Coyote Invite held at the former Vermillion Golf Course on a sunny afternoon. Led by all-American Jason Probasco and Noah Deyo, who tied for first in the men's race, the Coyotes men's team grabbed six of the top eight spots. Jennifer Feely, unattached, won the women's race in 18:01 although Nebraska-Omaha grabbed five of the top 10 spots. Natalie Malone of UNO finished second in 18:56. No team points were kept for either the men's or women's events.

Probasco and Deyo ran 25:53 in the 8K race, which included more than 150 people in attendance. Also for the Coyotes, David Farnsworth was third in 26:08; Ed Whetham, fourth, 26:17; Dave Johannson, sixth, 26:48; and Andy Nelson, eighth, 27:07. Frank Benewald, running unattached, was fifth in 26:18, and Andy Tucknott of Wayne State was 7th in 27:07. The other top 10 finishers were Ben Fogarty (27:08) and Brendan Huber (27:54), running unattached, in 9th and 10th, respectively.

Darcy Preston (19:11), Michelle Ellingson (19:20), Sara Stricker (19:23), and Becky Goltz (19:53), all of UNO, finished third, fifth, sixth and ninth, respectively. Jennie Buller, who finished seventh in 19:44, led the USD women runners. Other top ten finishers were Bridget Stephenson, unattached, fourth in 19:16; Darr Nickerson of Wayne State, eighth in 19:45 and Rachel Barber of Dordt, 10th in 20:03. Brianna Schenk (20:03), Patricia Goetz (20:17), Alison Luedke (20:22) and Molly Meng (20:35) finished 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th, respectively for the Coyotes.
