Coyotes Lose Halloween Volleyball Match To Minnesota State, Mankato

MANKATO, Minn. - The Minnesota State, Mankato women's volleyball team turned back the Coyotes, 3-0 (15-8, 15-11, 15-13), in North Central Conference play Tuesday at the Schellberg Gym in Mankato, Minn. South Dakota dropped to 10-23 overall and 2-14 in the NCC while Minnesota State improved to 9-19 overall and 3-12 in the NCC.

For the Coyotes, sophomore Amber Abrams had nine kills on 29 attacks and junior Nicole Johnson had eight kills on 12 attacks (.667 hitting percentage). Freshman Sarah Vollertsen had six kills, two solo blocks and four block assists. Freshman Angela Golesh had 27 set assists and sophomore Leslie Fusinato had five kills and 11 defensive digs. Overall, the Coyotes had 35 kills on 96 attacks, 35 defensive digs, four service aces, and seven team blocks.

Minnesota State, Mankato was led by Nichole Rose with 15 kills on 27 attacks (.444 hitting percentage) and Jen Jacobs, who had 12 kills on 26 attacks (.385 hitting percentage). Jennifer Blendermann led the Mavericks with 36 set assists. Overall, Minnesota State had 47 kills on 120 attacks, 28 defensive digs, nine service aces and 8.5 team blocks.
