The #15 ranked North Dakota State women's volleyball team turned back the South Dakota Coyotes, 3-0 (15-8, 15-8, 15-6), in North Central Conference play on Friday night before 577 fans in attendance. South Dakota dropped to 10-21 overall and 2-12 in the NCC while North Dakota State improved to 18-10 overall and 8-5 in the NCC.
For the Coyotes, freshman Becky Olson had nine kills on 30 attacks. Sophomore Leslie Fusinato had seven skills on 21 attacks and 11 defensive digs while freshman Sarah Vollertsen had seven kills on 25 attacks and nine defensive digs. Junior Nicole Johnson had seven kills on 21 attacks and five block assists. Freshman Angela Golesh led South Dakota with 31 set assists.
Overall, South Dakota had 36 kills on 130 attacks and 54 defensive digs. The Coyotes had seven total team blocks and three service aces. Rachael Schmieg led the Bison with 15 kills on 33 attacks and 10 defensive digs. Kathleen Hegg had 21 set assists. Overall, North Dakota State had 44 kills on 124 attacks, 53 defensive digs, six service aces, and 11 total team blocks.
