Volleyball Team Falls To In-State Rival South Dakota State, 3-0

Coyotes could not get any momentum going against Jacks.

BROOKINGS, S.D. - The South Dakota State volleyball team defeated South Dakota 3-0 (15-8, 15-9, 15-5) in North Central Conference play Friday night at Frost Arena. South Dakota (10-16, 2-7) lost its second straight match.

For the Coyotes, freshman Sarah Vollertsen led South Dakota with nine kills on 24 attacks. Sophomore Amber Abrams had eight kills on 23 attacks and six defensive digs. Sophomore Leslie Fusinato had nine defensive digs. Freshman Angela Golesh had 23 set assists to lead South Dakota. Overall, the Coyotes had 28 kills on 102 total attacks and 38 defensive digs.

South Dakota State (18-3, 6-3) was led by Shauna Sturm, who had 13 kills on 22 attacks and Rose Ebnet with 13 kills on 30 attacks. Overall, SDSU had 48 kills on 106 attacks and had 47 defensive digs.
