Volleyball Team Falls To Augustana, 3-0, In NCC Action

Coyotes overcome by the #2 team in Division II.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The #2 ranked Augustana College volleyball team defeated South Dakota 3-0 (15-4, 15-6, 16-14) in North Central Conference play on Saturday night. South Dakota (10-17, 2-8) lost its third straight match.

For the Coyotes, sophomore Amber Abrams had 13 kills on 47 attacks and five defensive digs. Freshman Sarah Vollertsen had 12 kills on 35 attacks, two solo blocks and two block assists. Freshman Becky Olson had eight kills on 25 attacks and 11 defensive digs. Sophomore Leslie Fusinato had 12 defensive digs for South Dakota. Freshman Angela Golesh had 32 set assists for the Coyotes. Overall, the Coyotes had 43 kills on 146 attacks. South Dakota had 49 defensive digs and five team blocks.

Augustana received 19 kills on 41 attacks from all-American Lindsay Voss, who had a game-high 18 defensive digs. Sara Larson had 14 kills on 22 attacks. Kari Peterson had 53 set assists for the Vikings. Overall, Augustana had 66 kills on 138 attacks for a .341 hitting percentage. The Vikings also had 80 defensive digs.
