Entry #14, Jill Fields, Fr., Naperville, Ill.

Spring season is in full force and the team as a whole has already accomplished many new goals, which has allowed us to keep raising our standards and work to be better. Finding out we were going to be having A.M. practices led us all to a reluctant feeling, because we didn’t think we were “morning people”. Within the first few minutes of the first workout we realized that we have the potential to succeed at any task we are given, as long as we believe it. Having practices in the morning has allowed us to not only have personal growth, but growth as a team. By overcoming the obstacles we have been faced with thus far into spring season, we have proved to each other and ourselves that we can accomplish anything we set out to, as long as we believe in ourselves and each other.

After completing our fifth week of spring season, we have gotten one step closer to becoming not only more physically prepared to compete next season, but mentally as well. There are three major points we’ve been focusing on which we know will lead us to a successful future. The topics we’ve put at the center of our focus all revolve around opportunity, and not letting it pass us by. Not only are we more sure of what we want to accomplish, but we’ve also developed a stronger bond by believing in each other and our ability to reach our goals.

By working hard, believing in each other, and committing to our goals, we’ve proved to ourselves we can do anything we set our mind to. With spring break approaching, we all have the same excited feelings. Whether we’re going home to see family for a few days, or going out of town for a small vacation, we’re all looking forward to a small break. But most importantly, we’re all excited because spring break means we’re that much closer to getting back into team practices.

The progress that we have made up to this point in the off season has given us all the feeling of accomplishment, but we have decided that to be the best team possible, we must never be satisfied. With that said, the goals will continue to be made, and by the end of spring season we plan to accomplish as many as possible to allow us to be completely prepared for the fall 2010 season.
