Women's Soccer Takes Southwest State To Overtime

Coyotes unable to produce winning goal, lose 2-1 in Marshall, Minn.

MARSHALL, Minn. - The University of South Dakota women's soccer team lost in overtime to Southwest State, 2-1, in nonconference play on Sunday.

Southwest State, 3-4, defeated the Coyotes, 2-4, on a goal in the overtime period (96:38) by Krista Browning off an assist by Heather Stacy. After a scoreless first period, Krista Browning scored the first of her two goals at the 56:29 mark on an assist by Kate Heydt. South Dakota scored late in the game on an unassisted goal by Erin Torres at 88:10.

South Dakota outshot Southwest State 16-13 and held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. South Dakota freshman goalkeeper Esther Regalado had three saves.

Coyote freshman goalkeeper Esther Regalado recorded 19 saves. Huron had two corner kicks and USD 0.
