VERMILLION, S.D. -- Joel Nielsen, the Director of Athletics at The University of South Dakota, has announced that the contract of USD women’s soccer coach Marcia Oliveira won’t be renewed for the 2010 season.

Oliveira served as the Coyotes’ head coach for the past two seasons, compiling a record of 9-23-1, including a 2-4 mark in Great West Conference games.

"I would like to thank USD for the opportunity to rebuild the program into Division I and for working with the student-athletes at USD," Oliveira said. "I wish the best of luck in the future to all."

Oliveira will remain as an instructor on the USD staff this spring.

"We want to thank Marcia for the time and effort she invested in the program during the past two seasons,” Nielsen said.

Nielsen announced that a national search will be held to find a new head coach.
