Women's Golf Team In Fifth Place After First Day Of UNK Invitational

Laura Halvorson one shot back of leader with first-round total of 85.

KEARNEY, Neb. - Laura Halvorson of The University of South Dakota women's golf team is third after shooting a first round total of 85 (44-41), one stroke out of the lead, after one day of competition at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Invitational on April 23-24 at the Meadowlark/Kearney Country Club in Kearney, Neb.

Due in part of Halvorson's performance, the Coyotes are 5th in team points with 390. They trail Nebraska Kearney, 349; Northeastern Oklahoma State University, 357; Northern Colorado, 359; and Chadron State College, 389.

Other Coyote individual results include Nora Remily, 98 (52-46), 23rd; Lacey Weber, 101 (51-50), 25th; and Stephanie Hawley, 106 (51-55), 32nd. Carla Dobchuk of Nebraska-Kearney (42-42) and Petra Lindgren of Northern Colorado (38-46) had first round scores of 84 to lead the invitational.
