The University of South Dakota women's golf team finished tied for fifth at the University of Nebraska-Omaha Invitational held over the weekend, April 6-7, at Gothenburg, Neb. Nebraska-Kearney won the invitational, scoring a total of 674. Northern Colorado finished second with a 697. Other team totals included: Chadron State, 732; Nebraska-Omaha, 733; South Dakota, 753; Southwest State, 753; Nebraska Wesleyan, 760; and South Dakota State, 810.
Individually, Steph Hawley led South Dakota with a two-day total of 186 (89,97). Other Coyote individual results included Lacey Weber, 188 (88, 100); Nora Remily, 188 (94, 94); Laura Halverson, 191 (94, 97) while Erin Weber had a total of 238 (110, 128).
The invitational was played at the Gothenburg Golf Club. It is a par-72, links style course and regarded one of the finest in Nebraska, carved out of the native sand hills terrain.
