USD Women Open Great West Conference Tournament Against NJIT Thursday
THIS WEEK: The USD women’s basketball team opens Great West Conference tournament play Thursday in Orem, Utah against the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Game time is 3:30 p.m. at the McKay Center on the campus of Utah Valley University. NJIT and USD will play for a third time in 15 days.

USD Women Top NJIT, 59-48, Clinch No. 4 Seed in GWC Tournament
Vermillion, S.D. –- The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team outscored the New Jersey Institute of Technology 35-24 in the second half to claim a 59-48 win on Sunday night in the DakotaDome. With the win, South Dakota ended the regular season at 14-15 overall and 6-6 in the Great West Conference and clinched the fourth seed at GWC tournament next weekend in Orem, Utah. The Coyotes will face fifth-seeded NJIT (12-17, 6-6 GWC) at 3:30 p.m. CT on Thursday.

Kinder, Coyotes Dominate Houston Baptist, 76-45
Vermillion, S.D. –- Junior guard Abby Kinder tied season-highs with 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead three Coyotes with double-doubles, as the University of South Dakota women’s basketball team posted a 76-45 rout of Houston Baptist on Saturday night in the DakotaDome. The victory snapped a three-game skid for USD to move the Coyotes to 13-15 on the year and 5-6 in the Great West Conference, while the Huskies fell to 3-24 and 1-11.

Coyote Women Fall to UTPA, 57-56
Vermillion, S.D. –- Sophomore forward Amber Hegge scored the final nine points for the Coyotes, but the University of South Dakota women’s basketball team fell short, 57-56, in Great West Conference action against Texas-Pan American on Thursday night in the DakotaDome. USD fell to 12-15 overall and 4-6 in the GWC, while the Broncs improved to 12-15 and 8-3.
