VERMILLION, S.D. -- Ryun Williams, the winningest women’s basketball coach in Wayne State (Neb.) history and former Coyote men’s basketball player, has been named the 10th head women’s basketball coach in the history of The University of South Dakota. Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen announced the hiring of Williams, who will replace the retiring Chad Lavin, this afternoon.

South Dakota Women's Basketball Team Ranked Second in Final USA Today/ESPN Division II Coaches' Top-25 Poll
LILBURN, Ga. -- The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team has received the program’s highest-ever ranking in the final USA Today/ESPN Division II Coaches’ Top-25 Poll released today by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. The Coyotes were ranked second behind Northern Kentucky, which defeated the Coyotes, 63-58, in the national championship game on March 31 in Kearney, Neb.
