Paul Brozik of The University of South Dakota leads the North Central Conference men's multi-event competition after day one concluded with five events. The multi event competition is being held at Morningside College today and Tuesday. This multi event competition is one of 21 events scored in the North Central Conference meet that will be held May 11-12 at Fargo, N.D.
Brozik has a total of 3,753 points with Matt Schmidt of NDSU in second at 3,732. Brozik, a sophomore from Winner, S.D., competed in five events with the following results: 100 meters, 11.12 seconds, 834 points; long jump, 6.93 meters, 797 points; triple jump, 38'02.79, 505 points; high jump 6'8, 831 points; and 400 meters, 52.42, 706 points. South Dakota has three individuals in the top 10 of the men's competition. Besides Brozik, Chad Rohde, a sophomore from Watertown, S.D., is sixth with 3,522 points while Josh Hofer, a junior from Freeman, S.D., is ninth with 3,357 points.
In the women's competition, Brienne Vette, a freshman from Spearfish, S.D., is fifth with 2,740 points.
