Track & Field Team Has Two Second-Place Finishes At Drake Relays

Men's 4x400 relay team has season's-best timing in finals on Saturday.

DES MOINES, Iowa - The University of South Dakota men's track and field team had two second and one third place finishes at the Drake Relays on Saturday afternoon.

The distance medley relay team of Andrew Neugebauer, Lee Lockwood, John Kehoe, and Scott Ellwanger were edged at the wire by Wisconsin-Oshkosh, finishing with a time of 9:57.32.

Assistant coach Derek Miles, an Olympic alternate in 2000, finished second in the pole vault behind American record-holder Jeff Hartwig with a mark of 18'10".

The 4x400 meter relay team of Ronnie McDougle, Lockwood, Neugebauer, and Kehoe ran a season's-best 3:11.59 in finishing third in the finals.
