Tyler Custis is in his first year as a volunteer assistant coach for the throws.

While competing for Texas A&M University, he was a 3-time indoor and 2-time outdoor All-Big 12 honoree in the shot put, the school record holder in the weight throw and finished in the top 15 in the shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Championships as a sophomore and junior. An Academic All-American as a senior, he was an Academic All-Big 12 selection six times.

Custis received his Bachelor's degree in Economics in 2007, and is now pursuing a Master's degree in Business Administration at USD.
