Hoffman Named Summit League Female Athlete of the Week

VERMILLION, S.D. -- Elizabeth Hoffman, a sophomore on The University of South Dakota women's swimming and diving team, has been named the Summit League Swimming and Diving Female Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Hoffman (Eureka, S.D.) won three events last weekend at the South Dakota State triangular. Hoffman won the 500 free (5:13.72), the 200 free (1:55.83) and the 100 free (54.25) against Summit League foe SDSU and St. Louis.

Hoffman's 200 free time is the sixth best overall in the league this season.

Hoffman is the first USD female swimmer to earn the weekly honors from the Summit League. Coyote sophomore Terry Rolfe won the male award in December.
