Janice Alswager Pitches Three-Hitter In 5-1 Softball Win Over Ferris State

Tiffany Davis hits double, home run in Coyotes third straight victory.

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Coyotes jumped to a 5-0 lead and sophomore Janice Alswager (Columbus, Neb.) won her second game in as many starts for South Dakota, who won their third straight game by defeating Ferris State (Mich.), 5-1, at the Rebel Games in Orlando, Fla. Alswager pitched seven strong innings, allowing just one earned run, three hits, four walks, while striking out two hitters. She also excelled hitting the ball, as she was two for two with one run scored. All-American Tiffany Davis (Hawarden, Iowa) had a double and a home run with three RBI while Leanna Chapman (Rapid City, S.D.) had two hits in three at bats, plus one run scored.
