Coyotes Name Amy Klyse Softball Head Coach
VERMILLION, S.D. -- Joel Nielsen, director of athletics at The University of South Dakota, has announced that Amy Klyse has been named head coach of the Coyote softball team. Klyse served as the interim head coach in 2008 and led the team to a third place finish in the North Central Conference (NCC) and was named NCC Co-Coach of the Year.

Three Coyote Softball Players to Face U.S. Olympic Team
VERMILLION, S.D. -- One current and two former members of The University of South Dakota softball team have been selected to play for the Black Hills Gold all-star softball team. Tagney Jones and former Coyotes Tiffany (Davis) Butler and Krystal Kirwan will be part of the team that will help prepare the U.S. Olympic team for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Four Coyotes Named to the NCC Commissioner’s Academic Softball Honor Roll
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The North Central Conference has announced that four players from The University of South Dakota softball team have been named to the NCC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. The honor roll consists of 36 student-athletes that must have a minimum 3.20 grade point average, have completed at least two semesters at their current school and have competed against outside competition.

USD Defeats Augustana 10-3 Before Being Eliminated From the NCC Softball Tournament by Minnesota State
DULUTH, Minn. -- Despite winning their first game of the day in the NCC Softball Tournament, the season came to an end for The University of South Dakota following a 7-0 loss to Minnesota State University. USD started the day by defeating the Augustana 10-3 before suffering the loss to MSU.
