SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The University of South Dakota men’s golf team sits in second place after the first round of the Augustana Fall Invitational, which took place Sunday at the Prairie Green Golf Club in Sioux Falls, S.D.
USD is at 293, just four shots behind leader Nebraska-Kearney, heading into Monday’s final round.
Kyle Scanlon (Jr., Stillwater, Minn.) and Ben Heller (Fr., Aberdeen, S.D.) led USD with 72s, which is tied for fourth overall. Ty Munneke (Fr., Champlin, Minn.) is tied for sixth with a 73, while Jim Walsh (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) shot a 76 and is tied for 25th. John Vining (So., Sioux Falls, S.D.,) was the final counting score with an 81.
USD also has a second team competing, and that group is ninth at 319. Matt Campbell (Jr., Aberdeen, S.D.) shot a 76 to lead that team, while Gavin Fawbush (Jr., Madison, S.D.) carded a 79. Zach Huth (So., Stillwater, Minn.) competing as an individual, shot a 75.
The final round of tournament is Monday at Prairie Green in Sioux Falls.
