Bio:Genzler, a native of Gettysburg, S.D., is in his third year as the sports information director. He has two degrees, earning a bachelor of science degree in political science and mass communication in 1982 and a master degree in political science (3.7 GPA) in 1996. Genzler oversees athletic communications and is the contact for football, track, men's and women's swimming and diving, women's tennis, and cross country. Prior to taking the director position in athletics, he was a media relations director for 10 years, also serving a year as the acting director of public information. Worked three years in newspapers in South Dakota (Gettysburg, Mitchell).

Public Service:

• coordinator of Journalism City at Boys State, 10 years
• marketing co-chair, fundraising co-chair for Vermillion Summer Arts Festival, five years
• Vermillion Quarterback Club President for two years
• Former President, South Dakota Council for Advancement and Support of Higher Education (CASE), 1989-91)
• Pre-Professional Scholarship Committee, Chair, CASE
• Member, Image Task Force, South Dakota Center for Higher Education, 1993-94
• Serve on Personnel Committee, Revising Salary Structure, Appointed by President Betty Asher, 1994-95
• Served as part of seven-person committee which reviewed graphic services on campus, appointment by President Betty Asher, 1994-95

• Worked as press steward at Drake Relays for 14 years
• State Meet (South Dakota Press Steward) for five years
