2011 Tailgate Map
The Coyote Tailgate Nation features a large grass area for reserved tailgating and newly include hard-surfaced lot parking for tailgating, as well as large open areas dedicated for games and foot traffic socializing. Also incorporated in the new design and location will be the Yippin’ Yotes Kid Zone and areas dedicated to admissions and other departments and groups on campus. Incorporating all aspects of campus life and community into one area reflects the importance and vitality of football game days in Vermillion.
This all results in a truly unique arrangement for game days and the increased fan friendly environment will be a tremendous benefit to all Coyote fans.
“I am excited to introduce this new tailgating area to all Coyote fans,” said Director of Athletics David Sayler. “It will provide the chance for fans, children and USD students to congregate in a safe and well-defined area. It also will bring campus closer to the DakotaDome and we are thrilled to introduce this plan in conjunction with the opening of Coyote Village, which is located right next to the tailgating area.”
The area north of the Dome where Coyote Tailgate nation has called home for the past five years will serve as free overflow parking.
