Dave Boots

Dave Boots is in his 22nd season as the head men’s basketball coach at The University of South Dakota. In addition to being the Coyote head men’s coach, he also serves as the assistant athletic director for operations at USD.

Boots is guiding the Coyote men as they begin their transition to NCAA Division I in 2008-09.

Boots is one of the nation’s premier basketball coaches, having compiled 538 career victories entering the 2008-09 campaign. In his first 20 seasons at USD, he compiled a record of 423-163 (.722). That included six North Central Conference Championships and 14 seasons of 20 wins or more. The Coyotes qualified for 10 NCAA Division II national tournaments under Boots, including five straight (2003-08).

Boots is the all-time wins leader in USD history and the Coyotes have a record of 254-44 (.852) at home under his guidance.
